Residents of the Baltimore region woke up to a fresh blanket of snow Saturday morning, and can expect dry and cold weather for the rest of the day.

About 1.5 to 2 inches of powder fell across Baltimore and surrounding counties overnight, with up to 3 inches accumulating in Baltimore County, near Bentley Springs, according to National Weather Service Meteorologist Anna Stuck.

Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing later on Saturday, reaching a high of 36 degrees, but dip again at night, Stuck said. She added that during the day strong winds reaching 30 mph will make it seem colder than the actual temperature.

Winds will let up some around 4 or 5 p.m., in time for the Baltimore Ravens face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers in a home game at 8 p.m. Fans and players can expect breezes and wind chills in the mid-20 degrees, she said.

Roads could be slick, she said. “Anything that melts will refreeze tonight.”

The snow comes days after the Baltimore-area had 5 to 8 inches fall which caused schools to close and other businesses to shut down as residents dug out the first winter storm of 2025.

Because of the previous snow, beware of icy sidewalks, warned Baltimore City Department of Transportation on social media. Keys to staying safe include boots with grippy soles, walking like a penguin and keeping hands free from pockets to help with balance.
