Chris Dinsmore

Chris is a local editor in The Baltimore Banner newsroom. He’s a Navy brat, born in Florida to New England parents, who spent his formative years in Virginia. He got his start in the news business delivering the afternoon paper in Virginia Beach. After graduating with a degree in, of all things, anthropology from the University of Virginia, Chris waited tables for a year and then went to Northwestern's Medill School for a master’s in journalism. He spun an internship at the American Banker into a job covering banking at the Business Journal in Charlotte, then soon moved to The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk, where he covered retail, the ports, the railroads, shipyards and real estate/economic development before becoming the business editor. He came to Baltimore in 2012 to become the business and health/environment editor for The Baltimore Sun.
