Laila Milevski is a news designer and illustrator working to develop and strengthen the Banner's visual storytelling. She moved to Baltimore in 2017 to pursue a Master's degree at Maryland Institute College of Art, where she taught as an adjunct for several years after graduating. Before joining the Banner she made illustrations and comics at ProPublica to support their investigative reporting.

Two survived, two were found dead, and four are missing.
