Baltimore County Police arrested Mark Jones, 30, and charged him with murder and child abuse in connection to the fatal shooting of his son and nonfatal shooting of two others in Rosedale on Christmas Eve.
Baltimore County Police confirmed Mark Jones’ identity along with the identity of the deceased, 4-year-old Jacobi Jones, in a statement Sunday.
Authorities responded to a domestic-related shooting at the Ross Ridge Apartment Homes around 6:35 a.m. Christmas Eve. They found Jones and three other gunshot victims, his two young children and an adult woman. Police identified the woman as the mother of both children.
All were transported to a local hospital, where Jacobi Jones was pronounced dead. The mother and 1-year-old child were in stable condition, police said Thursday.
Mark Jones is recovering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
Jones faces multiple charges in connection with the shooting, including first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and first-degree child abuse.
A court-appointed attorney who represented Jones at an initial appearance didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment on Monday.
