A 15-year-old boy was arrested and charged in the killing of a security guard at a McDonald’s earlier this month, the Baltimore Police Department said Tuesday.
The teenager is being charged as an adult with first-degree murder, police said. He was arrested Tuesday at his home in the 1500 block of North Smallwood Street in West Baltimore.
Police said the teenager shot and killed 38-year-old Jamal Davis after a “dispute and altercation” at the entrance of the McDonald’s. The shooting happened around 4 p.m. on Jan. 12, while Davis was working at the fast food restaurant.
The McDonald’s where Davis was killed is at the intersection of Reisterstown Road and Cold Spring Lane in Central Park Heights.

After the shooting, restaurant owner and operator Danitra Bell said the McDonald’s location has been a fixture in the neighborhood for almost two decades.
“I am in shock and completely devastated by the tragic and senseless act of violence that occurred at my restaurant,” Bell said in a statement to WJZ. “My condolences go out to the victim’s family and loved ones — especially his son.”
