Baltimore City Police have arrested five people, including a 9-year-old boy, stemming from a carjacking in which a woman was dragged from her car at a stop sign, authorities said.
Authorities said officers were called to the 3900 block of East Lombard Street in East Baltimore on Sunday afternoon for a report of an armed carjacking.
According to police, a 32-year-old woman said four males approached her car while she was at a stop sign at Grundy and Bank streets. A man smashed her window with a metal tool, pulled her from her car and fled the scene with her vehicle, she told police.
Baltimore City Police have arrested two men, ages 21 and 19, and three boys, ages 16, 15 and 9, in relation to the incident. The officers responded to the carjacking around 2:05 p.m. and located the vehicle, occupied by the five suspects, shortly after 3 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Milton Avenue.
Police said the suspects have also been linked to an unarmed robbery and assault in the 100 block of South Robinson Street shortly after the armed carjacking.
The three older suspects were taken to the Central Booking intake facility. They face carjacking charges. Police say the 15-year-old was brought to the Department of Juvenile Services for processing, and the 9-year-old was released to his parents.
