Power was restored at Johns Hopkins Hospital after a portion of the institution’s East Baltimore campus switched to generators Friday night.
“We appreciate the efforts of our staff members to prioritize patient safety throughout the outage, and are grateful for the swift response of Baltimore Gas and Electric crews,” said Lisa Burgunder, director of hospital communications, in an email.
An alert just after 9 p.m. had urged hospital staff to plug lifesaving equipment into red outlets and said the hospital’s incident command had been activated.
