Things are warming up a little, thank goodness. It’s time to get out and about, now that we don’t need snow pants and earmuffs. Here are seven things to do in Baltimore County, from Bach to an open mic night for poetry.

A cozy visit to Boordy

Boordy Vineyards is hosting a get-together from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday in Hydes, where vendors will sell hearty Italian food, charcuterie items and wine. Samantha’s Duo will also perform. The event is for people over the age of 21, and is free to attend.

Motorcycle show

The Maryland State Fairgrounds will host the Maryland International Motorcycle Show on Saturday, Feb. 8 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Timonium, where you can admire some of the latest motorcycles, powersports and ATVs. The event will also feature stunts and music. Tickets range from $10 to $95.

Galentine’s Day

Buon Apetito is hosting a Galentine’s Day buffet lunch in Essex that includes salad, meatballs marinara, coffee, tea and a double layer cake. The day celebrates friendships among women. The event, which will take place on Saturday, Feb. 8 from 1 to 4 p.m., will also include a cake-decorating event. Tickets cost $70, and the funds will support the Essex Community Development Corp.

Best of Bach

St. Joseph’s Parish is hosting a musical showcase of Bach’s best works arranged for the trumpet and organ. Come enjoy some classical music in Cockeysville on Sunday, Feb. 9, from 4 to 5 p.m. Tickets are $37.

BlaQ Spaces

StarTUp at the Armory by Towson University is hosting an exhibition that will display the “artistry and activist mindset of Black and queer students and alumni” on Wednesday, Feb. 12, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The exhibit aims to “shift perceptions of race, gender, sexuality and bodily agency.” The event is free to attend.

The Great Fire Retrospective

The Fire Museum of Maryland is hosting a listening event where people can learn about the Great Baltimore Fire, which broke out on Feb. 7, 1904, and destroyed 1,500 buildings in downtown Baltimore. The talk, by author Jack Burkert, is on Sunday, Feb. 9, from 1 to 4 p.m. Tickets range from $20 to $25.

Open mic night

The Baltimore County Arts Guild Clubhouse is hosting open mic night on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 6:30 p.m. The intimate performance space in Catonsville could be your gateway to comedy and live performance. The event is free to attend.
