Atlanta rapper T.I. was arrested at an airport Sunday night after being mistaken for a wanted Baltimore man, TMZ reports.
The “Whatever You Like” rapper was reportedly arrested Sunday night at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and taken to the Clayton County Jail.
However, it was a case of mistaken identity.
T.I., whose legal name is Clifford Harris, was mistaken for a Baltimore man with the same name.
Clifford Harris of Baltimore is wanted for alleged violent behavior toward a woman and stalking, TMZ reports. Baltimore Police said they would need more information about Harris to confirm details about his case, a spokesperson said.
The 43-year-old rapper was released within two hours of his arrest, his attorney Steven Sadow told TMZ. An extradition hearing triggered by his arrest was dismissed by a judge.
The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
T.I.’s attorney, Steven Sadow, referred The Baltimore Banner to the TMZ article. He said he had no further comment.
