Come Saturday, Anne Arundel drivers will see three new speed cameras around the county.

The automated cameras, in non-school-zone locations, will be active 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

After they’re installed, drivers will receive warnings if caught speeding in the first 15 days. When that 15-day grace period ends, any driver traveling 12 mph or more over the speed limit will find a $40 fine in their mailbox. The citation will capture the date, time and speed of the vehicle.

Signage alerting drivers of the newly installed speed cameras will be posted, Anne Arundel County Police said in a news release.

The new camera locations are:

  • The 2200 block of Johns Hopkins Road in Crofton, across from Johns Hopkins House
  • The 4700 block of Sands Road in Harwood, near Sands Road Park
  • The 400 block of Queenstown Road in Severn, next to Fellowship-Pentecostal Church

The additional cameras come less than a month after two were installed in Jessup and Odenton.

In 2024, Anne Arundel County installed 20 cameras, including the two in November, as part of the speed enforcement program. County police installed five cameras in school zones at the beginning of October. Four additional school zone cameras are planned.
