A five-alarm fire in downtown Baltimore burned across six buildings on Sunday, leading to road closures and the temporary suspension of light rail service on the day of the Orioles’ final regular-season home game.

The Baltimore City Fire Department said the scene at West Lombard Street and Eutaw Street is contained. Five commercial buildings and one residential were affected by the fire, but there were no injuries, fire department spokesperson John Marsh said. No cause has been determined, and firefighters are cleaning up the area, Marsh said.

Local news reports showed Jano Ethiopian Restaurant on fire at around 9:30 a.m.

Baltimore’s department of transportation said there are road closures from Paca to Eutaw streets and Pratt to Baltimore streets, which reopened later in the afternoon.

The Maryland Transit Administration responded to the fire by suspending light rail service in the Central Business District, which has since reopened with minor delays. A bus bridge from North Avenue to Cromwell and Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport is now canceled.

The Orioles said in a press release that they are “in communication with Baltimore City, Maryland Department of Transportation and Maryland Transit Administration officials on traffic implications” and that fans should “allot for increased traffic in the downtown area.”

Earlier in the day, smoke from the fires could be seen from various points in the city, including Oriole Park at Camden Yards, where the Orioles are playing an afternoon game against the Detroit Tigers.
