Five people were injured after a car hit pedestrians in downtown Baltimore Sunday evening.

The Baltimore Police Department responded to a crash in the 100 block of Market Place around 7:34 p.m.

Two cars were involved the crash, a Toyota Corolla and a Volkswagen Taos, police said Monday. It’s not clear what events led up to the crash, only that the cars collided, causing the Toyota to hit the pedestrians.

The driver of the Volkswagen was cited for negligent driving and making unsafe lane changes, police said. The driver of the Corolla was cited for driving an unregistered vehicle and for being uninsured.

Police said the victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
