Thanks for your coverage of the deplorable, inhumane working conditions at DPW sanitation yards. No air conditioning, no ice, no water, no toilet paper unless the supervisor at one station unlocks the closet upon individual request, and more. And these guys work hard, so hard that one of them just died on the job in this brutal summer heat. No excuses — fix this situation now!

Yes, overall renovation of DPW facilities is clearly needed. But many of these problems can be taken care of immediately while awaiting overhaul. We have the evidence; the Office of the Inspector has the details. The mayor must act now!
