HOUSTON — The Ravens’ got their Christmas gift when the inactive report for their game against the Texans came out.
Theirs did not feature starting wide receiver Zay Flowers, while the Houston Texans’ did feature wide receiver Diontae Johnson, meaning the former Raven will not have a chance at revenge.
Flowers, the Ravens’ leading receiver, has been dealing with a shoulder injury since Saturday’s win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. He didn’t practice during the short week.
With wide receiver Nelson Agholor out with a concussion and Johnson having completed his flameout, the Ravens are shallow at the position. Rashod Bateman has been practicing and playing well, although he’s dealing with multiple nagging injuries, too. Until the Ravens picked up Steven Sims, they had only Tylan Wallace and rookie Devontez Walker as additional receivers on their 53-man roster.
Johnson was picked up by the Texans on Monday. If the two teams meet in the playoffs, he could get a chance to play the team that traded for him and cut him within two months. But he won’t get that shot Wednesday.
Another major offensive contributor for the Ravens, running back Justice Hill, remains out with a concussion, which means running back Keaton Mitchell is active for his fourth game of the season as he works back from ACL surgery. He was last active against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 12.

Two defensive backs are also inactive for Baltimore. Cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis is dealing with a hamstring injury, but safety Marcus Williams appears to be a healthy scratch again. Williams has not played since Week 12.
Rookies outside linebacker Adisa Isaac and center Nick Samac are the final two players on the Ravens’ inactive list.
The Texans have linebacker Devin White, defensive end Jerry Hughes, guard Shaq Mason (knee), offensive lineman Juice Scruggs (foot) and defensive tackle Folorunso Fatukasi (ankle) on their inactive list.
This game will help determine the playoff standings because the Ravens and Steelers are in a race for the AFC North title. The Texans have won their division.
