HOUSTON — Derrick Henry’s historic season claimed a new Ravens record: most touchdowns in a season.

Henry’s 2-yard run in the first quarter against the Houston Texans was his 16th of the season, breaking a tie with running backs Ray Rice (2011) and Mark Ingram II (2019) for the most total touchdowns in Ravens single-season history. Henry has 14 rushing touchdowns and two receiving scores this year.

Henry, the NFL’s second-leading rusher entering Week 17 (1,636 yards), started the season by becoming the fourth player since 1970 to reach the end zone in each of the first 11 games. He’s also only the fourth player in NFL history to post at least 10 rushing touchdowns in seven career seasons.

This month, Henry said he wasn’t focused on the scoring record. His touchdown Wednesday was his first since Week 11.

“I just try to leave the individual stuff out of it and try to focus on the team,” Henry said. “Like I said, give the credit to all the guys that made it possible for me to get to the end zone, and just thankful for this whole journey and this organization and everybody who’s been a part of it.”
