With the Ravens’ season over after Sunday night’s playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills, general manager Eric DeCosta has a better draft slot than he hoped for.
The Ravens will have the No. 27 overall pick in April’s draft, just behind the Los Angeles Rams and just ahead of the Detroit Lions. The Ravens are expected to have 11 picks in the draft overall: seven original-round selections and an additional four compensatory picks awarded for the free-agency losses they suffered last offseason.
The Ravens could have a handful of pressing needs depending on how DeCosta builds the Ravens’ roster over the next four months. Offensive tackle, wide receiver, edge rusher and cornerback will likely rank among the team’s priorities.

The No. 27 overall pick has been a mixed bag in recent years. The Ravens found cornerback Jimmy Smith there in 2011 and wide receiver Rashod Bateman in 2021. The Houston Texans, meanwhile, drafted wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins at No. 27 in 2013, one year after the Cincinnati Bengals took guard Kevin Zeitler there. The Bills drafted cornerback Tre’Davious White, who played for Baltimore this season, in 2017.

But other recent picks at the position — Arizona Cardinals edge rusher Darius Robinson (2023), Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Anton Harrison (2022) and linebacker Devin Lloyd (2021) and Seattle Seahawks linebacker Jordyn Brooks (2020) — have struggled to live up to their billing.
