Lamar Jackson has been voted first-team All-Pro by the Associated Press, a strong indication the Ravens quarterback is in line to win his third NFL Most Valuable Player award.
After the most impressive season of his NFL career, Jackson received 30 first-place votes, beating out the perceived MVP front-runner, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who received 18 first-place votes. Jackson now has three first-team All-Pro honors in his career; Peyton Manning (seven) and Aaron Rodgers (four) are the only quarterbacks with more in the Super Bowl era.
All-Pro voting has closely tracked with MVP voting in recent years, but few of those MVP races have been competitive. The last time an MVP winner received less than even 75% of the first-place votes was the 2016 season, when Matt Ryan (25 first-place votes) beat out Tom Brady (10) and the rest of the field (15 combined votes) for top honors. Ryan was also a first-team All-Pro that year, earning 29 votes to Brady’s 15. The last MVP who was not also a first-team All-Pro was John Elway, who won the award in 1987 as a second-team pick.
But the AP revamped its voting system for end-of-season awards before last season, asking voters to rank their top five picks for MVP instead of selecting just one. Jackson, for example, won his second MVP after finishing first on 49 of 50 ballots and third on the other ballot. This season, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, who received two first-team All-Pro votes, and Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley could impact the voting.

Jackson is coming off a regular season in which he posted career highs in passing yards (4,172), passing touchdowns (41) and passer rating (119.6) while throwing just four interceptions. He became the first quarterback in NFL history with at least 4,000 passing yards and 800 rushing yards in a single season, finishing with 915 yards on the ground.
But Jackson has said he’s unconcerned about individual honors, focusing instead on the Ravens’ playoff success. They host the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC wild-card round Saturday night.
Four Ravens overall were named first-team All-Pro. Along with Jackson, inside linebacker Roquan Smith was honored for the third time, slot cornerback Marlon Humphrey for the second time and fullback Patrick Ricard for the first time. Smith finished fifth in the league with 154 tackles. Humphrey had a career-high six interceptions and was one of the NFL’s top cover corners. Ricard was a key blocker for the NFL’s best rushing attack.
Running back Derrick Henry, who finished second in the NFL in rushing yards, and safety Kyle Hamilton, who helped spur the Ravens’ second-half turnaround on defense, were named second-team All-Pros. Henry was a first-team All-Pro in 2020, and Hamilton was a first-teamer last year.
