HOUSTON — The Ravens and Houston Texans’ pregame warmups Wednesday didn’t have a lot of holiday cheer.
Ravens backup quarterback Josh Johnson and Texans starting running back Joe Mixon had to be separated near midfield about 80 minutes before kickoff. Their argument started, according to the NFL Network, after Ravens punter Jordan Stout hit a Texans assistant coach with an errant punt.
That apparently led Mixon to catch another Ravens punt and kick it off the field. Cameras captured Mixon having words with Ravens special teams coordinator Chris Horton, Stout and Johnson. Teammates and coaches had to hold Mixon back as he yelled at Johnson near midfield.
The Ravens beat the Texans twice last season, though Mixon did not sign with the team until last offseason. Mixon went 0-2 against the Ravens last season with the Cincinnati Bengals.
