Marylanders woke to a thick pack of snow Sunday, and the storm’s continued sleet has shuttered businesses, public facilities and schools, as well as postponed events.

Here are some of the places, including libraries, recreational facilities and the zoo, that have announced closures and postponements.

The AVAM

The American Visionary Art Museum is closed Sunday.

Baltimore Basilica

The campus of the Basilica of the Assumption is closed Sunday; Masses are canceled.

State and local government

Maryland state offices and facilities across all counties and Baltimore City will close Monday.

Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore and Howard counties also announced government closures Monday.

β€œThe safety of our residents and employees comes first, and with today’s weather, we’ve decided to close Baltimore County government,” Baltimore County Executive Kathy Klausmeier said in a news release.

Baltimore City Recreation and Parks

All Recreation and Parks facilities in Baltimore closed at 4 p.m. Saturday and will remain shuttered Monday.

Howard County Recreation and Park facilities are closed Sunday. Baltimore County’s facilities will be closed Monday, officials said in a news release.

Libraries

Public library branches in Baltimore and Howard counties are closed Sunday.

Baltimore County Public Library will also close Monday, and branches of the Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore City will, too, officials said in a news release.

Baltimore Symphony Orchestra

The BSO’s Sunday performance of β€œCasual Conversations: Brahms & Haydn with Jonathan Heyward” at The Music Center at Strathmore has been canceled.

Courts

The U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland will be closed on Monday because of the weather.

All in-person hearings are canceled, and jurors do not have to report. That’s unless the presiding judge notifies the parties that the court proceedings will virtually take place.

Baltimore City and Baltimore Carroll, Frederick, Howard and Washington county circuit courts will also be closed Monday. The Maryland Judiciary is posting updates here about court closings and delays.

Laurel Park

The Maryland Jockey Club announced the 10-race program scheduled for Sunday is canceled. Racing at Laurel Park will return Friday.

Hopkins Ice Rink

The Johns Hopkins Ice Rink at Homewood is closed this weekend. The rink is typically open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays, free of charge.

Maryland Science Center

The Science Center is closed Sunday.

Maryland Zoo

The zoo is closed Sunday and Monday. It will return to normal winter hours Friday.

National Aquarium

The National Aquarium closed at 4 p.m. Saturday is closed Sunday.

Port Discovery Children’s Museum

The museum is closed Sunday. Those holding tickets for Sunday can reschedule to another date within the next 30 days.

Public school activities

Public school systems throughout Maryland have canceled weekend activities and announced closures, including Baltimore City and Baltimore, Carroll, Charles, Garrett, Prince George’s and St. Mary’s counties.

Baltimore canceled all weekend activities. Prince George’s and St. Mary’s counties canceled Saturday activities after 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively. Prince George’s and St. Mary’s counties canceled activities on Sunday.

Baltimore and Charles counties announced closures on Saturday and Sunday, while Carroll County offices are closed Sunday.

Garrett County Public Schools activities on Saturday wrapped at 4 p.m., and those on Sunday were canceled.

Red Cross Blood Donation Centers

All Red Cross Blood Donation Centers across the region are closed Sunday.

The Walters Art Museum

The Mount Vernon art museum is closed Sunday.
