Wednesday is the first day of school at Westernport Elementary. On May 13, a flood forced the school to evacuate by boat and prompted Gov. Wes Moore to declare a state of emergency.
Weather officials placed Anne Arundel County under a coastal flood warning until 10 a.m. Sunday, suggesting 2-2.5 feet of flooding is possible. In Annapolis, sandbags are being provided as officials warn residents to take precautions.
