A stabbing at a Pikesville home Tuesday morning turned into an hourslong barricade situation, leaving two adults hospitalized and drawing a heavy police presence to the normally quiet suburb.

The domestic incident unfolded when a 32-year-old woman requested the help of a state mental health clinician for her husband in the midst of a crisis.

Baltimore County Police arrived at the home on the 8200 block of Arrowhead Road at 10:25 a.m. and found the wife and the 48-year-old mental health clinician injured with stab wounds.

The husband, experiencing a crisis and armed with a weapon, retreated into the home, where he barricaded himself for nearly seven hours, according to police.

Members of the Baltimore County Police Department’s Tactical Team and Crisis Negotiation Team resolved the situation shortly after 5 p.m. They found the man with self-inflicted lacerations and transported him to a hospital in critical condition.

His wife and the mental health clinician were also transported to hospitals in critical condition. They remain stable.

Arrowhead Road is in a quiet suburb. The 8200 block, between Scotts Level and Old Court roads, is close to Winand Elementary School and Willow Glen North Park.
