Traffic is moving again after a truck fire caused the closure of a stretch of the Baltimore Beltway on Saturday afternoon.

Emergency responders closed all lanes of the outer loop of Interstate 695 just past exit 30A at Perring Parkway around 12:20 p.m. Saturday. About 30 minutes later, some lanes had reopened.

The closure led to miles of backups on the outer loop, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation’s traffic dashboard and camera feeds.

As of 3 p.m. the incident was no longer listed as active and area traffic camera feeds showed traffic moving smoothly in both directions.
