A 38-year-old man died in a fire in an Arbutus apartment early Wednesday morning, according to Baltimore County Fire officials.

Firefighters arrived at the 4400 block of Alan Drive at 4:19 a.m. to find a fire coming from a second-floor apartment, fire officials said in a news release. A resident who called 911 had reported that he could not escape the apartment, and a second rescue unit was dispatched. Firefighters who arrived within minutes entered the building to find the resident, Urian Bridges, deceased in the hallway.

Investigators determined the blaze was accidental and a result of unattended cooking, fire officials said in a news release Wednesday night.
