It was a deadly weekend on Baltimore-area roads, with two people dying in separate crashes in Howard County and two others losing their lives in a single-vehicle accident in Baltimore County.
The crashes occurred Friday night and early Saturday morning.
In Howard County, a female driver died when the 2013 Hyundai Sonata she was driving struck a tree at a curve in the road about 10:45 p.m. Friday. The vehicle was traveling eastbound on Whiskey Bottom Road, just north of Laurel, and had passed Kings Post Court.
The driver was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where she was pronounced dead, county police said in a news release.

A child in the rear passenger seat was taken to the hospital for evaluation. No other vehicles were involved in the crash, police said.
The second incident occurred hours later about 10 minutes north of the scene of the first collision.
At around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, a 2013 Nissan Altima traveling north in the 8000 block of Washington Boulevard in Jessup struck a dark-colored sedan that had entered the roadway from the parking lot of a Super 8 motel, police said.
The Altima left the roadway and hit a telephone pole and fence.
The driver, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sedan left the scene and continued to travel northbound along Washington Boulevard.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the crashes, including speed and weather conditions, and said the collisions were unrelated.
The Baltimore County crash, meanwhile, occurred at 1:55 a.m. Saturday, according to county police.
A 2010 Acura TL was traveling southbound on Harford Road when it struck and jumped a curb, then hit the rear of a parked tow truck, police said in a news release.
The driver of the Acura, 32-year-old Jacob Espada, was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A passenger, 28-year-old Cheyanne Moats Reed, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Baltimore County Police continue to investigate the fatal crash.
