Howard County Police continue investigating a double shooting that left one teenager dead and another in critical condition near The Mall in Columbia on Saturday night.
Police Chief Gregory Der said the shooting happened in the area of the Lidl grocery store in the 10300 block of Little Patuxent Parkway near a bus stop shortly before 6 p.m.
Der said one of the gunshot victims was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in critical condition. Both victims are teenage males.
He said the shooting appears to have been targeted and there was one shooter, who remains on the loose. Detectives are interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance video.
