Howard County Police are investigating a double shooting that left one juvenile dead and another in critical condition near The Mall in Columbia on Saturday night.
Police said the shooting happened in the area of the Lidl grocery store in the 10300 block of Little Patuxent Parkway near a bus stop shortly before 6 p.m.
Police said one of the gunshot victims was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in critical condition. Both victims are juvenile males.
Police said the shooting appears to have been targeted and there was one shooter, who remains on the loose. Detectives are interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance video.

The Mall in Columbia operations were not interrupted during the shooting.
Lindsay Kahn, spokesperson for The Mall in Columbia, directed all questions to the Howard County Police Department.
Last year, a 17-year-old was charged with first-degree murder after a fatal shooting of another teen in July at The Mall in Columbia.
Authorities said they believed a 17-year-old boy was targeted July 27, a weekend day when the mall was filled with shoppers. He was shot once. The shooting led to chaos and a lockdown of the mall.
