Authorities are investigating a shooting on I-95 Monday morning that left one injured and closed the northbound highway between exit 31A and exit 33A for hours.

Shortly after 4:30 a.m., Maryland State Police found 28-year-old Ronald Victor Garcia-Rodriguez, of Laurel, at the shoulder of the highway with multiple gunshot wounds.

Garcia-Rodriguez, who had called 911, was taken to R Adams Shock Trauma Center where he’s being treated, police said Monday afternoon.

Police said the suspect, who they did not name, and Garcia-Rodriguez were “acquaintances.” A motive hasn’t been determined, and it’s unclear whether Garcia-Rodriguez was inside or outside his vehicle when he was shot.
