Baltimore County Police are investigating the deaths of a husband and wife in Owings Mills, officials announced Wednesday.
Baltimore County police responded to the 3500 block of Avery Hill Drive on Tuesday where 59-year-old Karen Franklin and 63-year-old Gary Franklin were found dead with gunshot wounds. Police say the Franklins were a married couple.
Though a cause of death is yet to be determined, police say preliminary investigations show one victim has a self-inflicted gunshot wound, suggesting a possible murder-suicide.
Per public records, Gary and Karen Franklin co-owned a home in the area.

Karen Franklin earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware and spent her career working in sales, insurance, account management, bookkeeping and administration, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Between April and July last year, Karen Franklin actively promoted digital marketing as a way to gain financial freedom and get one step closer to retirement on TikTok. She accumulated over 1,140 followers.
“I would love to make extra money for travel, retirement, my grandkids, my kids,” she said in her first video promoting a step-by-step course to earn extra money doing digital marketing. “I just can’t wait to dig in a little further. … I can’t wait to be one of those six-figure earners.”
Though she promoted similar content on her Facebook page, most of what Karen Franklin posted there were family photos. In her first TikTok video, she mentioned being an almost 60-year-old wife, mom of three adult children and grandmother to one baby boy.
Friends took to Karen Franklin’s Facebook page to mourn her death.
