Police Friday identified a man and woman who died this week at a Silver Spring high-rise complex in what is suspected to be a murder-suicide.
The body of Demetreis Lee, 28, was found at about 1 p.m. Wednesday by a pool area at an apartment building in the 1100 block of University Boulevard West, according to Montgomery County police.
Police had responded to a report of a man who jumped from the high-rise building.
First responders also found Andrea Guirola, 28, in the hallway of the building’s 21st floor with stab wounds. They administered aid, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
A witness told investigators that Lee stabbed Guirola inside the apartment. She collapsed in the hallway.
“A knife believed to have been used in the stabbing was recovered,” police said.
Homicide detectives are investigating the deaths as a domestic-related murder-suicide, police said.
The bodies were taken to the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsies to determine causes and manners of deaths.
