A man fatally shot his estranged wife Thursday in Odenton and died by suicide as officers closed in on him in New Jersey later the same day, Anne Arundel County Police said.
Officers responded around 10:13 a.m. for a report of a shooting at Smith Bus Service, which is in the 1800 block of Bucklina Avenue, police said in a news release.
Once there, the officers found a woman suffering from what appeared to be a single gunshot wound. Police said medics declared 45-year-old Monyette Marie Stephenson, of Middle River, dead at the scene.
Detectives reviewed surveillance video capturing the shooting, enabling them to identify the alleged shooter as 48-year-old Trimall Stephenson, who worked at the bus company, according to police.
