Police are searching for a man who allegedly shot a woman Thursday inside a Fairland home. They identified the woman as Sarahi Concepcion Aragon-Cruz, 54, of Fairland.

Police in an email Thursday said the fatal shooting happened in Silver Spring.

A male suspect, “known to the victim,” shot her during an argument inside the home and left the scene, police said.

The incident occurred about 5:43 p.m. in the 3000 block of Memory Lane. Officers and personnel with Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service responded to a shooting and found the woman with an apparent gunshot wound.

Emergency responders attempted to save the woman but pronounced her dead on scene.

An autopsy at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore will determine the cause and manner of Aragon-Cruz’s death.

The investigation into Aragon-Cruz’s death is ongoing.
