Well, 2025 is here and it’s time to start filling it with new memories, activities and places. If the holiday lull still has its grips on you, avert your eyes and refer a friend. But if you’re ready to see what this new year has to offer, look no further than these events.

Say Sister! Opening Square Dance

Kick off the two-weekend Say Sister! Festival, a celebration of women in roots music, with a square dance. The festival is happening in conjunction with “I’ve Endured: Women in Old-Time Music,” a touring exhibition that features iconic female musicians in the genre.

Time: The exhibition is open from 6 to 9 p.m., and the square dance starts at 7 p.m.

Time: 1 p.m. or 7 p.m.

Location: Everyman Theatre (315 W. Fayette St.)

Major Laughs

Maybe you’ve already laughed your way to 2025, but are seeking a bit more. Several local improv teams are expected to take the stage for some unscripted fun at Old Major. Food and beverage are also available for purchase.

Inner Harbor Ice Rink

It’s not too late to hit the ice in the Inner Harbor. You’ll have to hurry though: Your chances will melt away if you don’t get there by Jan. 20, when the rink closes for the season. (Pro tip: Get $3 off the price of your ticket if you bring your own skates.)

Time: 10 a.m.-11 p.m.

Sunday, Jan. 5

Damn Near Beer Fest

Dry January doesn’t have to be a solo feat. The Damn Near Beer Fest will have over 30 non-alcoholic beers for you to sample — for free! That’s far more options than you’ll find in your average bar with friends for much less money.

Time: 11 a.m.

Location: True Chesapeake (3300 Clipper Mill Road, Suite 400)

Cost: Free

Family friendly? The listing doesn’t say no kids, but at least you know the event doesn’t feature alcohol.

Bach in Baltimore Presents: ‘Bach and Mozart’

For those who want to start 2025 on a literal high note, Bach and Mozart have got you covered. Expect to hear Bach’s “Cantata 83″ and Mozart’s “Symphony No. 25” at this concert. If you’re late on giving your music-loving friend a gift, here’s your chance.
