    Maryland State Police said they were working to remove dozens of people from their vehicles after severe storms knocked down utility poles on Route 140 in Westminster, trapping them in their cars. BGE was working overnight to de-energize the power lines so that they can be removed from their cars.

    Age-related macular degeneration is incurable, but Marylanders are getting better treatment for it now, physicians say.

The injection will slow the progression of the eye condition. It’s especially prevalent in older adults and has no cure — it can only be slowed. More people are getting diagnosed with the disease as a consequence of living longer.
