    A Maryland State Police trooper was shot multiple times Monday night in Wicomico County, and the suspected shooter was later found with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and pronounced dead, the agency said.

    At the 76th annual National Muskrat Skinning Competition in Golden Hill, dozens of people of all ages raced to cut the pelt from these aquatic rodents. The tradition brings together families in this marshy land and hearkens back to Native American traditions.
