With three days and one walkthrough to go ahead of the Ravens’ “Monday Night Football” game against the Los Angeles Chargers, the team was practicing without a number of key pieces Friday.

Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum and All-Pro linebacker Roquan Smith weren’t at practice. Defensive lineman Travis Jones and wide receiver Rashod Bateman, both starters, were also missing, as were cornerback Arthur Maulet, a part of the secondary rotation, and safety Sanoussi Kane, a special teams contributor.

Wide receiver Nelson Agholor returned to practice after an illness, and running back Justice Hill cleared concussion protocol after undergoing it in Thursday’s practice. Safety Kyle Hamilton and outside linebacker Odafe Oweh were listed as full participants despite both appearing on the injury report with neck injuries.

This was the first practice Linderbaum missed this week, and he was listed on the injury report with a back injury. He dealt with a neck injury that sidelined him during training camp, but he has played every game this season.

It was also Bateman’s first missed practice of the week, and he was listed with a knee injury. Bateman has dealt with injuries throughout his career, so staying healthy was a major focus for him this season. So far, he has played every game despite missing practices here and there.

Meanwhile, Smith, Jones, Maulet and Kane have missed all three practices this week. Three of them suffered injuries during Sunday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Smith left with a hamstring injury, and Jones and Kane are dealing with ankle injuries.

Despite leaving early, Smith finished as the game’s leader with 13 tackles, and he leads the Ravens in tackles this season. Jones is an important part of the Ravens’ defensive front — teammates say his progress is a big reason their run defense is so stout. Kane is the only rookie who has played every game this season because he contributes on all special teams units.

Maulet injured his calf at the Thursday practice ahead of the Steelers game and was in a boot. However, he was working by himself on Thursday of this week without a boot and was doing light jogging. He was also walking without it in the locker room. He underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in training camp and started the season on injured reserve before returning to play three games.

Rookie center Nick Samac was listed as limited participant with a chest injury.
