The Ravens have ruled tight end Isaiah Likely and fullback Patrick Ricard out of Sunday’s home opener against the Cleveland Browns.

Likely returned to practice Friday for the first time since breaking his foot in training camp in late July. He was a limited participant and started practice by running routes and working on a blocking sled with tight ends coach George Godsey and members of the Ravens’ athletic training staff.

“I’m encouraged by the progress,” coach John Harbaugh said after practice. “I talked to him today. You saw during practice out there, and he’s in a good place. So I’m encouraged.”

Ricard, who hasn’t practiced in nearly a month because of a calf injury, will miss his second straight game.

Wide receiver Rashod Bateman (personal) missed practice Friday but will play Sunday. Defensive lineman Nnamdi Madubuike (ankle) and cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee) were full participants in practice after being limited this week. Neither received an injury designation for Sunday’s game.

The Browns, meanwhile, ruled out reserve defensive lineman Mike Hall Jr. (knee). Rookie running back Quinshon Judkins, a second-round pick who missed training camp because of off-field concerns, is questionable, along with starting right tackle Jack Conklin (eye/elbow).
